Kaliki Player Privacy Policy

Kaliki Player privacy.

1. Who we are

Kaliki Player is published by Kaliki Labs, an independent mobile-app studio based in Andhra Pradesh, India, founded by Yuva Krishna Kaliki and Jayakrishnaa Kaliki. The app's package name on Google Play is com.kaliki.player. This privacy policy applies to every release of Kaliki Player from v1.0.0 onwards.

2. What stays on your device, always

The following never leave your phone and are never sent to us or to any server:

• The video and audio files you play (we read them only to play them)
• Playback history, resume positions and "Continue Watching" data
• Folder names, file names, favourites and search history
• Equalizer settings, playback speed, aspect-ratio and theme preferences
• Thumbnails generated from your videos (cached locally)

Kaliki Player has no cloud sync, no user accounts, no login and no backend of our own. All data is stored in a local database on your device.

3. Google AdMob (advertising)

Kaliki Player displays a single banner ad on the home screen only. We never show ads during or over video playback. Ads are served by Google AdMob via the Google Mobile Ads SDK. AdMob collects information needed to deliver and measure ads, which typically includes:

• Android Advertising ID, a resettable identifier you control in your device settings
• Device model, OS version, language, country, coarse network info
• App version and ad-request metadata, timestamps, ad unit, ad result
• An approximate, IP-based location, country / city level only

Google may use this data to deliver personalised or non-personalised ads, frequency-cap ads, prevent fraud and measure ad performance. AdMob's collection and use are governed by Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.

Personalised vs non-personalised ads

On Android 13 and above, the system asks for your "Ads" preference; Kaliki Player respects that preference. You can also reset or delete your Advertising ID at any time in Settings → Privacy → Ads on your phone, which forces all ads in the app to be non-personalised from that point on.

4. What we don't collect

Other than the ad data described above, Kaliki Player contains none of the following:

• No analytics or usage-tracking SDKs (no Firebase Analytics, no Google Analytics)
• No third-party crash-reporting SDK (no Crashlytics, Sentry or Bugsnag)
• No user accounts, login or cloud backend
• No location, contacts, microphone, camera, calendar or SMS access

We never access, read, upload or analyse the contents of your videos.

5. Network & streaming

Kaliki Player uses the network for two things only: (1) loading the home-screen banner ad via AdMob, and (2) the optional "Play from URL" feature, which lets you stream a video from a network address (http, https, rtsp or HLS) that you type in. When you stream a URL, your device connects directly to the server you specified — we do not operate, proxy, log or see those connections.

6. Crash diagnostics

If the app crashes, Kaliki Player writes a local crash log to its own private storage on your device:

This file stays on your phone and is only seen by us if you choose to share it with us (for example, by attaching it to a support email). It is never uploaded automatically.

7. Permissions

The full list of permissions Kaliki Player requests, and exactly why each is used:

Kaliki Player does not request location, contacts, microphone, camera, calendar or SMS permissions.

8. Sharing (always user-initiated)

If you share a video from within the app, Kaliki Player uses Android's native share sheet to hand the file to whichever app you pick. After you share, the receiving app's privacy policy applies — we do not control or monitor what happens next.

9. Children's privacy

Kaliki Player is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. The app contains no chat, no social features and no in-app purchases.

10. Your rights & deletion

• All app data lives only on your phone. Uninstalling Kaliki Player removes it from your device — there is no server-side copy to delete, because we never had one.
• You can clear playback history and cached thumbnails at any time from within the app or via Android's "Clear storage" for the app in system settings.
• To reset advertising data: open Settings → Privacy → Ads on your phone and choose Delete or Reset advertising ID.
• For data collected by Google AdMob, refer to Google's privacy policy and the controls in your Google Account.

11. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version is published at this URL with a revised "Last updated" date. Material changes (for example, adding any SDK that collects data) will also be flagged inside the app on the next update.
